Our history

Timeline

50s – 60s

Our father, Robert Johnny Choy (1936 – 2012) was a talented and skilled artist specialising in oil paintings and copper tooling art pieces. He frequented the straits of Malaya on his motorcycle, painting Asian scenes and civilisations and sold his art pieces mainly to the post-war colonial officers stationed in the Malaya straits during colonial rule.

1973

His travels brought him more exposure to art and it inspired him to start his own picture framing shop. We are a family owned picture frame shop that has been established since 1973 and have been practicing and improving our craft for more than 50 years, spanning 2 generations!

2001

We grew up spending our weekends in the frame shop, helping our dad out with simple framing chores. Never did it cross our minds that one day that we would carry on our family business as our father had dearly wished.

Now

Years of skill, tradition and hand-made craftsmanship was passed down and we are now equipped with the latest technology and good framing practices. With that, we aim to provide the very best design and craftsmanship for our customers.

Our team

The business remains family owned and operated till this day. Magnum and wife, Wendy, manage the showroom at Tanjong Pagar Plaza while elder brother, Winston, manages the frame fabrication at the workshop.

Our promise

We believe that if we want it done right, we’d better do it ourselves.

Here at Talent Arts, we are a team that pride ourselves on being able to offer a complete service in-house where all our framing work is done in our workshop and assembled by us. This way, we can control the quality at every stage.

You can be fully assured that the framer you spoke to when you dropped off your artwork is part of the team who will be making your frame and understand every need and details you specify.
