A piece of sporting history

Signed jerseys are a great way to commemorate your favourite team’s winning season or it can also be a perfect gift for a sports fanatic. This piece of sporting history will look great professionally framed and displayed on the wall.

Our professional team has many years of jersey framing experience. We are able to create custom framing solutions for any kind of jerseys, t-shirts, and other textile collectibles such as cross-stitch and silk scarves. We have even framed a full kimono costume and go-kart racing suit!

Pin mounting to ensure reversibility

Jersey framing is intricate and labour intensive. It requires patient pinning of the jersey to ensure that the end result is flat and straight, yet can still be taken out in its original form in the future. We are mindful of our mounting methods as we know that very often the jerseys are valuable and difficult to acquire, especially signed ones. Pinning is done carefully using nickel-plated pins to secure the jersey to an acid-free foam core. This method will not cause damage and will ensure reversibility.

When customers bring in their previously framed pieces for reframing, we see examples of bad mounting where rusty staples, aggressive tapes or glue were used. These methods can cause irreversible damage to the jersey. Customers are unaware because these damaging materials are hidden behind and they were not informed of the correct way of mounting.

Our priority is the long-term preservation of your treasured piece.

Framing methods

For jersey framing, we always recommend a 3-dimensional shadow box frame. If wall space is a concern, you can choose to keep the frame compact by having the jersey folded so that the sleeves are hidden.

Conservation

To ensure the conservation of your jersey, we avoid using invasive mounting materials such as non-acid-free tapes and glue. This is to ensure that your piece would not be damaged during the framing process and can be taken out in the future. Our priority is long-term preservation of your treasured piece and we will give it the treatment it deserves.

UV light can cause colours to fade in objects or fabrics overtime. They should never be placed in direct sunlight, as even indoor lighting has UV which can cause fading in the long run. To protect the colours from fading, we also offer these glazing options with UV protection:

  • Plexiglas® UV100 (99.7% UV protection, shatter resistant)
  • TruVue Conservation Clear® Glass (99% UV protection)
  • Artglass AR 99 Water White (99% UV protection, anti-reflective)
  • Artglass Lifetime Acrylic / TruVue Optium Museum Acrylic® (99% UV protection, anti-reflective, abrasion resistant, anti-static, shatter resistant)
